Amazing Amazon for January
Quecia!!!
Friends, Amazons, and fellow countrywomen, lend me your ears. Our
Roman Amazon Quecia has been voted as the Amazing Amazon for
January!!! She is a bubbly, spirited Amazon who loves making
others laugh and brings fun and joy to the forums!
Recently she crossed the English-Italian language barrier!!! Her
latest posts she thought up on her own and wrote them without any
help from Myla and this is the first time she has done that!!! So
let’s all give a huge “Congratulations!” to Quecia!!!
Amazing Amazon for February 2009
Tara!!!
Whether it was by email or posting in the forums, Tara has been
chatting up a storm this month. Her Tavita posts this past month
have been so much fun to read and she always is quick to send out
love and healing energies to whoever needs it. Her infectious
courageous spirit has bolstered the tribe. So let’s hear an ear
shattering round of applause for Tara!
Amazing Amazon for March 2009
Sykaara!!!
In the past few months, Sykaara has really shown us all just what
being a true sister and Amazon is all about. She went to visit
Thisbe and stayed with her through sickness and health and even
through the death of Thisbe’s father. Now home alone, she
continues to help her sisters helping Paidi find a place to stay
during her time in the USA. Through it all, she trying to get her
GED and struggling with her own family over it. We all know she
will persevere and continue to show us what being Amazing is all
about.
Amazing Amazon for April 2009
Kiran!!!
I waited until the last minute to send Kiran this because she’ll
know before everyone that she’s been chosen as the AA. Kiran has
been struggling in her country with oppression, strife, and a
government that doesn’t care about its people so much as it
cares about lining its own pockets. In recent months, she’s lost
her own personal computer and access to the internet but didn’t
falter in her posting or her newsletter duties. Then her company
decided to tighten its belt and deny her online access from work.
Still, she manages to post regularly including her always welcome
jokes. She also continues to make this newsletter shine with
articles from everyone, done on time, and cared for with love.
Thank you Kiran, for all you do even when I know you’re
struggling every minute to do it.
Amazing Amazon for May 2009
ELINA!!!
We’ve had a slow posting month and Elina really tried to keep
things going. I applaud her efforts to keep the forum interesting
and moving, even when it got stuck. Good work, Elina!
Amazing Amazon for June 2009
Paidi!!!
With a smile and a cheery hello, Paidi always seems to carry the
sunshine in her pocket. In addition to being warm and friendly,
she works hard at her school work and her own personal interests.
She’s worked hard this month on her RPF posts and still kept us
laughing and chatting when away from Themiscyra.
Amazing Amazon for June 2009
Faela!!!
This month’s Amazing Amazon is: FAELA! Nominated by her sisters,
this wonderful Amazon has been the source of no less than SIX
WFA’s this month ALONE. That speaks volumes to me, and I know it
does to you. Always a source of creative inspiration, she never
turns away a sister who needs to talk - even when headed to her
own bed. Congratulations, Faela!
Amazing Amazon for August 2009
Valkyra!!!
I chose Valkyra this month because she is one of the quieter but
firm backbones of this tribe. She never fails to meet her minimum
requirements, has contributed interesting articles to the
newsletter since it was formed, and has a core of feminism that
the rest of us can learn from. While she’s not a whirlwind of
activity, her dry humor surprises and cheers our spirits and her
leadership qualities can never be denied. As beautiful inside as
she says her character is out, Valkyra is someone we can all
admire.
Amazing Amazon for September 2009
The Founders!!!
This month's AA goes to THE FOUNDERS. Even though Celosia, Medea
and Thalia are no longer 'part' of the tribe, they remain the
spirit behind everything we do here. Without them, there wouldn't
be an “us”. We'd all still be cruising the net trying to find
a fabulous group to be creative with. Instead, we have each other.
This is in no small part due to them. Thank you, Celosia, Medea
and Thalia! We miss you!
Amazing Amazon for October 2009
Willow!!!
Willow went above and beyond at the end of last month to create
calendars for the rest of the year, and for all of next year
already too! She’s done most of them throughout the year as well
and her artistic talent has been growing as she’s made them. In
addition, she’s been working on her Nok’tana story and her
personal fiction story. On top of all that, she’s one of the
brightest and happiest Amazons and enjoys spreading joy in any
thread she visits.
Amazing Amazon for November 2009
Alexandra!!!
This month we celebrate Alexandra and her posts! Alexandra has
been a member of the community for a long, long, long time…and
she always meets her posting requirements. In a flurry of posting
this month, she’s exceeded her own personal top RPF posting
best. Even without her flurry, she’s always a steady chat poster
and among the first to post about celebrations and requests for
support. She’s one of the backbone’s of our tribe and I’m
happy to name her AA for November!
And chosen by the Amazons for 2009 - the Amazing
Amazon of the Year
TARA
From the votes:
This woman is amazingly wise and smart. She really holds a treasure full of knowledge that I
take good advantage off *grins*. She has the heart of a lion! She honestly cares for the
tribe and whishes it nothing then the best. I think this woman is gold!
It was a tough choice but my vote goes to Tara, She's
a constant source of encouragement, support, humor, affection and creativity.
She's a wonderful poster, and a wonderful woman to talk to. So, Tara has my vote this year :)
Hey! I want to give my vote for Tara. She's always been a sweetheart and I think she's a wonderful courageous woman and I'm very proud to call her a sister!
TARA. :-) Because she's had to put up with so much this year. She's been a solid rock of calm and reason throughout a year of turmoil and has ALWAYS looked for the greater good in each of us.
I think Tara would be an excellent choice.
For My Part - I really couldn't agree more.
She's more than an Amazon in the forum, she's an Amazon outside of
it as well. She lives off the earth and shares with us all in the
ways of plants and herbs; she volunteers with women in her area;
and she isn't afraid to stand up and take the hard paths when they
know they must be walked. Congratulations, Tara!
