Latra of Aresia (Queen)

Amasis is the Queen of the Amazon tribe, the Aresians, who followed the concepts of the God of War, Ares. Amasis is a tall 5'7" brunette who is adept in the art of war. She rules with a hard, but fair hand. She understands the use of each weapon, but prefers her sword when she is allowed to choose. 

She became Queen through the Rite of Caste, as was tradition. Her mother was also Latra of the Aresians, and Amasis' lineage can be easily traced back through several maternal Queens. 

During the rule of her great grandmother, the Aresians lost their lands in a battle with a fierce warlord. Those lands were quickly densely populated by the warlord and his followers and the Aresian tribe found they could not reclaim their lands. The tribe became nomadic for a time as they searched for lands to call their own. Amasis wanted with all her heart to restore a sense of pride to her sisters. 

It was with this knowledge that Ares was able to manipulate Amasis into believing that Themiscyran lands were theirs. Ares misled Amasis with the belief that the Themiscyran tribe was on the Aresian ancestral lands and that he would help them regain their lost heritage.

Unknown to Amasis, Ares was using her and her tribe to start a war that would ultimately end in the slavery of the Themiscyrans. During the brief conflict, the plot was uncovered and the Aresians and Themiscyrans joined forces to fight back against those that wanted to force them into slavery. Since then, the two tribes have maintained a fragile alliance.
