Cleo

Alovasuri Sida (Cavalry Rider)

Daughter of Mya

Cleo is a Cavalry rider within Themiscyra. The daughter of the Royal Guard Mya, Cleo had the upbringing of all Amazon children. Being taught to hold a sword before she could stand and hold up her own weight. She was destined to follow in the footsteps of her much respected mother Mya.

Cleo was the youngest of 3 daughters born to Mya, and the only one to be born to the Royal guard in her later life. Cleo's older sisters were long out of the shared hut by the time Cleo was born. As such her relationship with her older sisters, no matter how familiar, was never emotionally close.

This was not however the case with the relationship between Cleo and Mya. To Mya, Cleo was the miracle child that had been planted in a womb that she believed no more life could come from. Unlike with the raising of her two elder daughters who were born to her in her early youth, Mya had more time to be with her youngest daughter. In her ambitious youth Mya, although a diligent mother, was consumed with the responsibilities of her duty and the want for progression of her place in the tribe. In middle age Mya had found herself in a place of privilege as a Royal Guard, and as a result more time to devote to the raising of her youngest daughter. As such the bond between mother and child was always very deep, and Cleo was raised knowing the full love and attention of her mother.

Although not done intentionally, the attention that was shown to Cleo did nothing but increase the distance between Mya and her estranged older daughters, who by the time Cleo was 10 years old were notable sisters in their own rights among the tribe. Having experienced the joy of raising Cleo, Mya found herself filled with a great regret for not doing so with her other children but she saw no way of undoing the mistakes that she had made. Attempts of reconciliation and reconnection were met by her daughters with suspicion and polite indifference. As a result the eldest of her daughters became estranged from not only her but also Cleo.

When the eldest of the daughters died in battle, Cleo's remaining sister openly rebuked Mya for mourning as deeply as she did, causing a teenage Cleo to jump to her mothers defense. The act resulted in the final decimation of the relationship between mother and daughter and sister and sister. The remaining elder sister left the tribe in search a new place with a sister tribe, in an attempt to start afresh away from the loss of her beloved sister.

The death of Mya in the war with Eric saw the world of Cleo change completely. Without blood family to rely on, Cleo became withdrawn and distant, relying on herself and her abilities alone.

Cleo is a devoted sister who excels on a mount and the throwing of spears. Now a Cavalry Rider, Cleo is possessed by the ambition to progress to the position that was once her mother's. She is a sister whose beliefs are rooted in the old ways and as such has been known to inflexible to change and compromise. Cleo's affections are not easily won, and her favor, once gained, is truly a formidable thing. She is known by her sisters to speak harshly. but she is always truthful. The trait of patience that the Goddess chose to withhold from Cleo at her creation, was made up for 10 fold with the trait of loyalty instead.

Cleo is athletic and slim with defined muscles from practicing endlessly at the training ground in order to further her skills and her ambition. She has green eyes and long, wavy jet black hair that falls to her waist, but is usually secured in place with a thong and braids. She is 5'11 and 25 years old with brown skin and is generally thought to be exotic and beautiful, except for her very stern countenance.
