Deirdre

Daksoz Archila (Dance Teacher)

Hevemur Archila (Jewelry Maker)

Taiche Verlisi (Gate Guard)

Deirdre is 5'7 with golden brown skin and brown eyes. Most of the time her thick, shoulder length hair is tied back in a ponytail or in braids. On rare occasions, she leaves it loose. She is of a medium build and is gaining strength everyday due to daily staff and sword training exercises. Deirdre speaks two dialects of Tae'Nah, Greek and Arabic. She is intelligent and a great listener. Her greatest quality is her empathy.

Deirdre was not born into the Amazon Nation. She was the Princess of a great politician in Lydia, Greece - a man named Parthos. She was her parent's second child. She had an older brother named Marcus. She and Marcus were very close and she loved him very dearly. There was no hatred toward him since he was obviously the favorite child and since the kingdom was promised to him. He treated her like an equal even though he was seven years older then her. They shared everything. Marcus even shared his discontent with her about being the future king. That's why it was no surprise to her when she found a letter under her pillow explaining his plans to become a warrior and join the army of this warlord named Xena.

Deirdre's father was adamant about not letting his kingdom fall into the hands of his nephews so he demanded she get married. She was only 14! With her cunning, she was able to stall for 3 years, but that was all the time she was allotted. Desperation overtook her because she didn't want to become her mother. She decided to run away just like her brother had. She knew it would break her parent's heart but she couldn't give up her future. So she ran away.

Deirdre had led a very sheltered and protected life. She had no idea how hard life outside the palace walls would be.

She was no Marcus. He had practically lived with the common folk as a young boy because he couldn't stand the palace. It prepared him for life in the army. Deirdre had no such background. She had always been the pampered princess behind her stone walls.
She became very ill when faced with the harsh elements of the wilderness. Had it not been for the kindness of a stranger named Chhris (short for Chhrisaleste) who was an Amazon, she would have died. She brought Deirdre to her tribe, which made its home along the Sangaris River in Phygia, and taught her how to survive. Deirdre fell in love with the ways of the Amazon and left Chhris's tribe in search of one she could call her own. She headed north east through Galatia off rumors of another tribe nearby. She had almost given up hope of finding them. It was then she stumbled upon the tribe of Themiscyra, whose sisters had similar stories in their past and who've bonded to form a family.

Deirdre is happy there and has finally found her place within the tribe. She has realized her dreams of becoming the Archila of the dancers. Deirdre has always been proud, but now she has a different sense of the word. Before she was proud because of her birth right as royalty. Now she is proud because of her abilities as a warrior, for her contributions to the tribe and for her love of her sisterhood. She has come a long way from the sheltered little princess she used to be, although she has momentary relapses. She knows her brother would be proud of her.

Her choice of clothing is low-rise black leather pants and a black halter top. Her weapon of choice is the staff because she thinks it's sexy. (She loves twirling it like a baton).

Deirdre's totem is the cat. She uses the staff when she fights and rides a golden palomino named Io. She is hut mates with Faela. She speaks Greek and Arabic.
