Sister to Xanthea

The Scythians wanted to tear down the temple of Artemis in Ollaea's home village. When the village refused, the Scythians declared war on the Amazons. They attacked and destroyed the village, but a handful managed to escape into the woods.

When the Queen was slain, Ollaea fled and took shelter with a water nymph named Nephele that had befriended the village. She waited in Nephele's underwater home for many days for the violence to stop.

During her time there, she had a vision that her elder sister Xanthea was still alive. Nephele gave her a bit of food and water and sent her to go find Xanthea.

There were many adventures on the long road to find Xanthea. She ran across Xena and the bard Gabrielle. They told her that a tribe of Amazons had just settled at Themiscyra. Taking a chance, Ollaea journeyed to the spot they described and was reunited with her sister.
