This song as first sung in the movie King
Arthur has always been one of my favorites and has always
reminded me of the Amazons. I've wanted to share it before but
while there were some versions I liked very few were of good
quality and ones that were were not the complete song. This may
not be the song in its entirety but it's a beautiful version
that reminded me of you all. I hope you'll like it :) .
It's "Song of Exile" as performed by
Karliene Reynolds.

Sisters’
Love
A sister’s love is special
in oh so many ways
Now kilometers stretch between
us
and candlemarks turn to days.
We’ve shared so much as children and
warriors the tears, the joys, the pain
A lifetime spent together those memories
remain. In times gone by we’ve
pondered
the paths our lives have taken
Knowing that in spite of this
our sister love unshaken.
A sister’s love is special
in ways that are unspoken
Still that binding force exists
our sister love unbroken.

The
Care of a Sister
The past left a breeze of fear in me,
But there’s something about you that reminds me that
you will never be among the petals of
the past, You will always be among the petals of my
heart shinning oh so bright like you
always do.
You’re the pollen of your own rose.
When you vanish from between my arms, and hide
underneath the shade of the distance, I
go seek for you and find you fluttering in between
the abyss of my heart,
Blowing your whispers whom slither
tenderly on the shells of my heart, Leaving the labels
of the magical notes of your love
wandering through my core. The diffusion of your warmth
has roamed over the cold I had in me.
Embracing your heart inside my heart through all the
years would be my honor.
Hand by hand, heart by heart, nothing
can break us apart. Aiming to the queendom of the land
beyond bonding side by side, never
apart. I’m always by your side...you have my word my Athelfi.

Valkyra’s Mirror
With tears filling her eyes, she looked
deep into the mirror and said,
“If only it was you standing there
instead of my reflection.”
Then she recognized someone standing
right behind her reflection.
She twisted her head with excitement, but an empty space was all
she saw.
“Imagination…” she said to
herself, hopelessness filling her head.
While her sad eyes were focused back
into the mirror,
Something straight from her heart came shining red.
Bending her head with amazement,
She realized that her imagination wasn’t playing tricks on her
this time.
The woman grinned and said: “It is
you, my sister…..
... standing inside my reflection and
laying within my heart…thank you, my
friend, my sister."

The above poems were written by
nameless women poets. I took both, the sad and
the happy emotions that I believe they
inserted into their words. I used their feelings
and my edited words to help express my
feelings for all of you, my Athelfi and Friends.

Here's my anniversary gift. I asked for a
couple of adjectives from everyone about a month ago, and used
them to put together an Amazon soundtrack :)

What
Amazons Are To Me
I was
eight when I was introduced to shows like Xena and Buffy. At
that time and for many years thereafter, I was bullied and
unsure of myself. These shows told stories of strong, empowering
women who were able to stand up and fight for not only
themselves but for what was right. And the men in these shows
respected them (providing they weren't the bad guys); something
which I had never experienced until my early college days.
Amazons
aren't just a mythological or historical idea but a society, a
collective of women who hold firm to the belief that the world
needs to change, that women have been repressed long enough and
that society needs to recognize the power that women hold. Every
woman who stands up for something, whether its themselves, their
friends or for cultural changes is embodying the spirit of the
Amazonian heart that beats within their chest. Sometimes, it’s
a small action that not many take notice of or it’s a large
action, one that may make them a target of their male
repressors.
They are
found throughout the world, both adults and children. In my mind
they aren't limited to one culture, they are their own culture,
a group that encompasses the globe and speaks out in every
single country about the atrocities against females. In the
Middle East, it's a young girl speaking out against the Taliban
for repressing females from attending school; in China and
Japan, its mothers speaking out against killing their baby
girls; in Africa, its female children, fighting for their right
to receive an education; in America, its women fighting for
their rights against the government taking away their choice to
have an abortion and all around the world, its every woman,
everywhere speaking out and fighting back against abuse and
rape.
The
Amazons are not women who used to exist. They are women who live
right here and now. They are every female,
everywhere linked as one united nation to better their world,
their lives and the future for every female that will come after
them.

" Sisterhood is many things. It's a warn
smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful
hello... It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only
better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's knowing that there
will always be someone there for you. It's dreams shared, and
goals achieved. It's counting on others and being counted on. It
is real."
Thank you for being my sisters! Here's to 13
glorious years and to 13....30 and many many more to come! Cu
ena durus Tae'Nah arcis!
